Applying and Managing Discounts and Increases

What is this feature? Great question! The discount or increase application allows a paying user to apply a bulk discount OR bulk increase to the "Spaces" section of a project. This functionality does NOT affect services.

The Admin or Member will be able to apply a bulk increase to, for example, manage a budget three years out and account for anticipated price increases in the future. The bulk discounting may be used to accommodate contract pricing with lower pricing than what is displayed.

Applying Discounts and Increases

  • Open the FOLIO project budget to which you want to apply a discount or increase.
  • Click the "Apply Discount or Increase" button.
  • On the slide out, select the appropriate discount or increase option in the dropdown.
  • Add the value for the percentage you wish to discount or increase in the budget.
    • Note: this feature only adjusts pricing on the spaces section of the budget.
  • Click "Save".
  • The discount or increase will be applied. You will see an orange flag on the top right of the budget to remind you that a discount/increase is applied when you visit the project in the future.
    • NOTE: Project collaborators do NOT see the discount/increase buttons or flags. This feature is only visible to the FOLIO Member or Admin.

Managing Discounts and Increases

  • Open the FOLIO project budget where you wish to manage a discount or increase.
  • Click the "Manage Discount or Increase" button on the right side of the budget.
  • On the slide out, make the appropriate changes to the percentage value or remove the discount/increase with the trash can button.
  • Click "Save".

💎Product Tip: To change between having a discount applied to having an increase applied instead (or vice versa), you must delete the existing to change between the two. For example, if I have a 10% discount applied to the project, I must click the "Manage Discount or Increase" button, completely delete the existing discount, save, and then "Add" the new increase.
